I’m getting kind of personal here. This is a story I’ve wanted to share for a while, because it’s one that I’ve experienced myself and because it’s almost too wild to be true. I figured what better place to share it than with some of my favorite people — you guys! I’m going really deep here and talking about things I only talk to my therapist about. Yep, what will be discussed in this episode has left me in therapy many years later, for reasons you’re probably going to roll your eyes at.

This story begins in the summer of 2006. I was 20 years old and I had just left a serious long-term relationship to move to Ottawa, Ontario with my parents. My father was in the military and he was being posted to Ottawa from Fredericton and I had a difficult…

On April 1st, 2008 Skye Lynn Budnick took a one way flight to Japan. She was just 21 years old. She didn’t tell anyone she was planning to take this trip and she hasn’t been seen or heard from since. I had a fan send me this story, because Skye’s sister Megan has become the most incredible advocate for her over on TikTok, sharing her story and experience and keeping Skye’s name out there.

Tonight I’m going to be using my platform to share Skye’s story as well, using the information I’ve been able to gather, but I want to make this point very clear: once you’re done listening, please head over to Megan’s TikTok account and listen to her videos. This is her story and her sister’s disappearance, nobody can tell it better than Megan can.

I actually want to start by talking a little bit about Skye’s sister Megan. I started working on this article a couple weeks back and it’s taken me so long to finish it because Megan’s videos really hit a nerve with me. I cover a lot of unsolved cases on…

This is the story of the unsolved murders of four teenage girls who were brutally killed one evening in Austin Texas, in a yogurt shop. The 1991 yogurt shop murder case has nearly gone cold after 29 years, however, there is DNA evidence out there that could break the case wide open. Unfortunately, the FBI doesn’t want to share information around this DNA evidence and so here we are. This story will enrage you, so hang on to your hat.

It’s December 6, 1991, a chilly Friday night in Austin, Texas — or as chilly as Austin Texas can get. 17-year-olds Jennifer Harbison and Eliza Thomas were working the late shift at a local frozen yogurt shop located in a strip mall called “I Can’t Believe It’s Yogurt”. That night…

I’m covering another Canadian case — it’s one that I have been following closely since it happened back in May of 2020. I was really hoping we would have more answers or direction by now, but unfortunately, we don’t — and while we cannot definitively say that this is a true crime case, the mysterious disappearance of three-year-old little Dylan Ehler did occur under suspicious circumstances. And it’s important that we keep talking about Dylan and sharing his story because this little boy is still missing and his family desperately wants him home.

On May 6th, 2020 around 1 pm in the afternoon, in the quiet town of Truro, Nova Scotia — which is in Canada for my American friends, three-year-old Dylan Ehler was outside playing in the yard of his grandmother’s house. He was wearing a camo winter jacket with fur on…

Tanner Ward was a 19-year-old young man from the small town of Trenton, Missouri. After some rocky teenage years, it seemed like Tanner was starting to finally get his life together. With a new baby daughter named Sophia and a fiancee named Megan, things were looking up. But then, things would take a sharp turn towards the worst possible outcome. What happened to Tanner Ward will have you scratching your head, uncertain about everything you might know. Technically, this is a closed case, but the family believes it is far from over. We’re going to talk about the mystery surrounding the death of Tanner Ward.

I want to preface this episode by saying that I really don’t know what happened to Tanner Ward, only Tanner Ward knows what happened to Tanner Ward and unfortunately, he’s not around to tell us. But I think the fact that there are so many unanswered questions and pieces that…

I am bringing you another unsolved true crime case that will leave you shocked at how little progress has been made eight years later. Chelsea Small was killed in cold blood while working at a cash advance store. Sounds like a cut-and-dry robbery right? Wrong. Some of the details, in this case, appear to point to a targeted killing. And the craziest part about all of this is that much like the Missy Bevers case, the killer was caught on video, very clearly. He was calm, unbothered even though he had just murdered a young woman. He has identifiable features and mannerisms, someone knows who this is and 2021 is the year he needs to be found.

The day is November 12, 2013. 30-year-old Chelsea Small wasn’t supposed to be working that day but she had switched shifts with a coworker at the very last minute. Chelsea worked at the Advance America store in Taylor Michigan, which is a cash advance store. You know, one of those…

Family is supposed to be your safe space. The people who love you. The people you can trust. But unfortunately, it doesn’t always work out that way. Tonight we’re going to talk about the Lin family, who moved from China to Australia for a better life, and tragically lost theirs. The lone survivor of the brutal murder we will be talking about was the only daughter, Brenda Lin, who was away when her family was slaughtered. So who could commit such a heinous crime? The answer was much too close to home.

The Lin family consisted of the father and head of household Min Lin, 45 years old; his wife Lily Lin, 43; their daughter Brenda, 15 sons Henry 12, and Terry, nine years old. Min and Lily had moved to Sydney Australia from China to grow their family after finishing school…

This case hits home for me. It happened in the community I lived, to a young woman who was a year younger than me and ran in the same social circles. When Jennifer Teague went missing after working her late-night shift at a local Wendy’s in the Ottawa area community of Barrhaven, no one could have possibly predicted what kind of horrific fate she had met. It left the quiet and safe family-filled neighborhood on high alert — terrified that there was a predator on the loose. And there was. A very sick man who took his rage and frustration out on a young 18-year-old woman who had her whole life ahead of her.

Jennifer Teague was born on June 30th, 1987. She had just turned 18 years old when she was taken from this earth — and if she were alive today, she’d be 34 years old. …

This is the story of an unsolved murder case from Japan, where an unknown suspect completely massacred a family — before lounging in their home, watching TV, eating their food and then completely disappearing.

The Miyazawa family lived in a suburb in Tokyo called Setagaya, which is about half an hour away from the city. Setagaya is a popular place for families to live, just outside of the bustling downtown core of Tokyo. …

Matthew Hoffman was a man who was clearly a little too obsessed with trees. I think you’ll see a common theme of trees throughout this story leading up to the event that would land him in jail for murdering three people and holding a 13-year-old girl hostage. The roots of this case (see what I did there) are insane.

It’s November 2010. When Tina Herrmann, a mother of two, didn’t show up to her job at Dairy Queen, her co-workers were immediately concerned. Tina was extremely reliable, never missed a day of work and if she were to, she would have called. …
